Veterans who served part of their careers in the armed
forces were honoured today at a special ceremony hosted by Tom
Harris.
The Glasgow South MP and his wife Carolyn presented Veterans'
Badges to six constituents who served their country in the army,
navy or air force. Two of the veterans had seen active service
during the Second World War in the Royal Navy.
Tom said: "It is a real honour to meet these brave people and to
be able to present them with their veterans' badges, which they s
richly deserve.
"No-one can ever express the debt we owe to these people. But
the Veterans' Badge is one way of recognising that service on
behalf of your country is valued."
Anyone who served in Britain's armed forces up until 1994 can
now qualify to receive the Veterans' Badge.
